Makeup Expiration Date Guide

We’ve all been there, way too many makeup products in your drawer and no idea when you purchased them or when they should be tossed. Do you know that when you use expired makeup, it can harbour bacteria and can cause irritation and bumps on your skin, closely resembling acne? Expired foundation with SPF, for example loses its efficiency of active ingredients which becomes comprised over time, so while you assume that SPF 45 will protect your skin, its acting more like an SPF 15 or even less. The consistency of expired makeup will change becoming clumpy, dry, and not applied as smoothly.

THE SOLUTION? grab a sharpie and write the expired date on the bottom or stick a post-it note on the inside of your bathroom cupboard as a reminder. To make it simple, I have created a guide of what to toss & when.
